Yara’s Adventure

Role
Project Manager & Technology Lead

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Arthur C. Clarke
Picture this: you step into a hidden world where the elements come alive. Yara's Adventure is a thematic attraction tucked inside DOMITAI park in the Dominican Republic. It invites you to walk through the mystical temple of the four elements, guarded by the Tainos, the island's indigenous people.
This blends storytelling, nature, and cutting-edge tech into a guided tour that stays with you. You cross paths with ancient Taino wisdom, feel the wind and fire in the cenote, and connect with nature.

What's this all about?
Yara's Adventure is a testament to how nature conservation and immersive tech can work together. The whole thing came together with solid project management, careful component selection, automation, and custom-built products.
When you visit you're guided by people who know their stuff. As you walk through the cenote, you feel the breeze, watch flames dance, and hear water flowing. Every element reminds you how everything in nature is connected and worth protecting.
Behind the scenes we hooked up the whole attraction with IoT sensors and automation. The operator can control the atmosphere remotely, and we tied in Google Home and Amazon Alexa so the interaction between people, tech, and nature feels seamless.
Quick facts
Started June 2021. About 5 months to build. Difficulty 4/5.
What I did
Project management, picking the right tech, building automation systems, and developing custom products.
Yara's Adventure is more than just a cool attraction. It reminds us we're caretakers of this planet, and sometimes the best way to get that message across is to let people feel it firsthand.
Breaking down my role
1. Project management
I ran the show from idea through opening day. That meant keeping everyone aligned (stakeholders, builders, creatives, engineers) and making sure things actually moved forward.
2. Picking the technology
A key part was choosing the right tech. I spent time researching and testing options to find what would work in this environment. We needed reliable IoT solutions flexible enough to create an awe-inspiring experience for every visitor.
3. Automation and custom builds
Automation was huge. I designed systems that run the whole attraction smoothly, syncing up all the parts so everything happens at the right moment. The IoT setup lets the operator interact with visitors in real time and tweak the experience on the fly.
I also led custom product development. We worked with a solid team of developers and engineers to build tailored solutions that improved the visitor experience. Adding Amazon Alexa connected people even more to the space around them.

What we pulled off together
An experience that sticks with you
The team built something special. The tour through that magical cenote grabs your attention while quietly making you think about conservation. Entertainment with a purpose.
It took a village
This project proves that good collaboration changes everything. From Firefly Creative Group's vision to Revo Entertainment's execution to Cocoarena Games' creative input, everyone brought something essential. Storytelling, logistics, tech, product development, customer experience - it all had to click.
Making people care
This attraction is as much education as entertainment. It gets people to actually connect with nature and feel responsible for it. If one visitor walks out wanting to protect the planet more, we did our job.
I'm proud of what the team pulled off. Between the project management, tech choices, automation, and custom builds, we created something that hits different. Hope Yara's Adventure keeps inspiring people for years.
